LGBT Week: How did it begin?

In 2000 three students at LTS approached the administration with the idea of organizing a week to raise awareness and celebrate GLBT diversity within the seminary.  Hear interviews with two of the founders here:

Kharma Amos (7 Mb) talks about the first celebration in 2000.

Duane Romberger (16.2 Mb) provides a second perspective.

Visit Duane's glbt page for photos and further information about the first year's events.  Following graduation at LTS Duane spent a year serving Penn Central 's (UCC) first Open and Affirming (ONA) church - Disciples United Community Church (DUCC) in Lancaster, PA.  In 2004 he moved to Boston and received his 2nd masters degree in theological research at Andover Newton Theological School.  During his time of studies he also served First Churches (Northampton, MA) and Village Congregational Church (Cummington, MA) and became in-care with the Hampshire Association of Western Massachusetts.  Duane is currently conducting a search for a ministerial call throughout the nation.
